Seefas Fishing Club Lakes

Loftmans 1

Access via No.1 Gate.

A rectangular shaped lake of 1.33 acres.Depths varying between 4.5 and 7 feet. The stock consists mainly of carp to over 20lbs and bream close to double figures. The lake also contains a good stock of roach which are much neglected. A surprise could be on the cards. Large perch and eels make up the stock. Because of the quality of the carp fishing the lake is quite popular therefore good angling etiquette is essential. Night fishing is allowed but long sessions are discouraged.The antisocial use of mobile phones has become a problem, please be aware of other anglers and use phones sparingly. A large unhooking mat is essential and completely free running leads must be used.

Loftmans 2

Acess via No.1 Gate;

A remarkable little lake of about a third of an acre, contains a large stock of carp many of which are well into double figures. Good sized bream are also present in significant numbers. Roach, rudd, perch and eels make up the stock.The perch and eels reach specimen proportions. It's a little lake so please mind your manners. If you can't catch here sell your fishing gear and take up golf. Parking is very convenient but keep to the obvious parking areas. During the summer months there are toilet facilities on site for the use of anglers at Loftmans One, Two and Middle Mead (see following profile).

Middlemead

Acess via Gates 1 or 2

This lake is approx 3 acres and has limited membership of existing SEEFAS members. To qualify members must have completed a full years membership of the society. At the end of the year interested parties should apply in writing to the chairman who will add their names to the waiting list, which is kept strictly in the order in which applications were received. Members should be aware that the waiting list is lengthy and the waiting time is measured in years. The lake contains carp to over 30lbs along with large pike. Other fish present are roach, perch and eels all of which undoubtedly grow large but are comletely neglected. Ordinary members are not permitted on the Middlemead site, other than during the winter to gain access to the remaining year-round toilet situated at the Bird Sanctuary

Puddle

Access via Gate No.3.

This is the Societies main match venue so check your match dates before fishing. It is an attractive lake of perhaps 2.5 acres and has an irregular outline so you can always find shelter. It is heavily stocked with carp to about 10lbs, also present are good sized bream, roach, tench and perch.Once again if you can't catch here.....

Bird Sanctuary

Access via Gate No.2.

An attractive irregular shaped lake of 2 acres. There is an all round year toilet on the site which serves all the lakes during the winter. The Bird Sanctuary has recently fallen out of favour with some members almost certainly due to the activities of the increasing stock of small pike that have become established in this lake and are making themselves a nuisance (see Angling Regs for dates of pike fishing season). The previous policy of removing larger pike has now been reversed which will hopefully lead to the stocks balancing out. The lake contains a good stock of carp to mid doubles, quality tench, F1's and crucians. Bream, roach, rudd and perch make up the stock. Perch have been landed to huge proportions and in keeping with all our lakes eels grow large too.

Wallasea

Access via Gate No.3.

This is an intimate venue of 1 acre. Your best weapon here is stealth, if you favour socials with your mates then avoid Wallasea. Recent years have seen heavy weed growth. Therefore substantial tackle is essential when targeting the carp which grow to about 20lbs. Quality roach have begun to show in recent years but tench numbers have inexplicably fallen. We are closely monitoring the situation. Good sized perch have been caught in recent years so watch this space. If the pace of life has caught you up and you need sanctuary, then you will love Wallasea. There are toilet facilities in situ during the summer months. Occasional matches will be fished on this lake therefore check your match schedule.
